Glasvegas, Bluebells and Brownies Rock at Music at the Multiverse

The second annual Music at the Multiverse weekend saw Glasvegas and the Bluebells take the Main Stage while revellers packed the new Dance Tent.

Rain showers did nothing to deter the audiences for the opening day of this weekend’s event at the spectacular Crawick Multiverse, Dumfries and Galloway.

The first of the big name acts to arrive on Saturday afternoon was the Bluebells, who spent time exploring the site before going on stage. They were followed by Glasvegas who topped the bill. Earlier in the day 18 youngsters from the 1st Kelloholm Brownies were among the first to arrive after receiving free tickets thanks to sponsorship from local company Shaw. The Brownies had a special backstage tour and DJ Malcolm X got them all dancing in the new Dance Tent.

A group of Kelloholm Guides is due to have a similar treat on Sunday. Sharon Glendinning, General Manager of Crawick Multiverse, said “The weekend got off to a great start. Having the Bluebells here followed by Glasvegas was just fantastic.

“And we had been delighted to welcome local Brownies along to enjoy the event and get a behind the scenes speak out how a music event works. “There’s going to be lots of great music over the weekend and we’re looking forward to sharing the event, and Crawick Multiverse, with locals and visitors from further afield.”

Sponsorship from David Hardie Engineering Ltd allowed Crawick to work with Action for Children Upper Nithsdale to provide tickets for four families who would otherwise not have been able to attend.
