New Funding Announced for Community Led Local Development Fund

The Scottish Borders Local Action Group (LAG) has already given out the first Community Led Local Development grant of 2023-24 and is keen to distribute the other £350,000 in grants as soon as possible. Funding of up to £20,000 is available for Borders based projects that are around Social Inclusion or Net Zero/tackling climate change or Poverty Alleviation. All projects must be complete.

The application process has two stages, step 1 the Expression of Interest, once submitted LAG members will review and give feedback as to likelihood of receiving CLLD funding and how to improve their project’s chances. Step 2 there is a short application form to fill in and the LAG will make a final decision on whether to fund or not within 1 month. Support is available for those wanting to apply.

To start the application process, please fill out the Expression of Interest available here. This uses the same process as other funds like Shared Prosperity Fund. If your Expression of Interest doesn’t suit CLLD, it will be passed to the Council’s Community Team to identify other potential sources of funding. To avoid missing out fill in the Expression of Interest soon!

Expressions of Interest are reviewed by the LAG weekly. Final Application Round Closing dates are:

  • Monday 4th September Midday (decision by end of September)
  • Monday 18th September Midday (decision earlier October)
